Dwelling Place

Gods Intent

Before man ever had had a chance to walk away, man had a place of belonging. Since the very beginning of mans existence man was given a place of dwelling, an eternal home. In this place man would experience divine life, peace, joy, satisfaction, security and fulfillment. Because all things were "made by Him and for Him" God created man knowing that He Himself is all that man would ever need. It was Gods intention that man would live, move, and dwell in His manifest Presence.

Why His Presence

In Gods Presence every need is met, every question is answered, every perspective is purified, and every soul is satisfied. According to the plan of God the place He desires for us to dwell is the same place He desires for us to draw from. His Presence. God doesn't need to be desired because He's insecure, He loves to be desired because He loves to provide for His children. He loves to give of Himself to those who love and desire Him. Sometimes He will even let us do without because He's teaching us to ask. He's that invested in you!

The Source

When God created the Heavens and the Earth He accomplished it through His creative power. He spoke into nothing and everything came to be. However, when God created mankind He accomplished it by speaking to Himself. ("Let US make man..." Genesis 1:26). What God is revealing to us is this...because man came from God mans source of life is found in Him alone. From that one statement, "Let US make man.." God eternally established that His very Person and Presence would be mans source of all things pertaining to life. God Himself is your source. You must know that the God you serve is that powerful, that intentional, and that relational.

Existing vs. Living

Merely existing is possible without His Presence but divine life is not ("This is eternal life that they may know You..." John 17:3). Until one is born again  by the Holy Spirit they are disconnected from the source they were created to live from. God Himself. This is how its possible to exist (natural birth) while not being alive (spiritual birth). "God is Spirit" (John 4:24) and until His Holy Spirit comes to regenerate and live in our spirit we have no means of knowing Him. The bible says that IN HIM there is life (John 1:4) and that when we are born again we are "joined together with Lord as one Spirit" (1 Corinthians 6:17) This is incredible because when we become born again God Himself in His fulness comes to dwell within us. The source goes from being around you to within you! This is why in John 4:14 Jesus said "But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life."

Steady Source

Once you have been born again by the Spirit of God you can now walk in the manifest presence of God. In Galatians Paul says "Now that you live in the Spirit walk in the Spirit." (Galatians 5:25) When we as believers walk in the Spirit we are walking with God in the cool of the day as Adam did in the Garden. When we abide in His presence we begin to discover the wonders and glories of His Person. As we walk in the Spirit our soul becomes flooded with His Presence manifesting peace and joy. As we abide in the vine of His Presence we begin to walk in Oneness with the Lord (".....that they may be one as We are"-John 17:11). Walking in the Spirit is how you live connected to the source! God Himself.

I pray this encourages and stirs you to seek to live in and from His manifest Presence!

The Unveiling

Gods Desire

If there is one thing I love about God its this. He loves to reveal Himself. From Genesis to Revelation God openly demonstrates the fact that its never been His intention to conceal His glory, but rather to reveal His glory. Think about it. He died to reveal Himself to you. The veil is torn and in Christ we can openly behold Him.  Paul said that "the Spirit searches and reveals to us the deep things of God." (1 Cor 2:10). This should excite you, heres why. This lets us know that revelation is not up to us! Revelation is the work of the Spirit, coming before Him is ours. If we were to come before the Lord and He not release the Spirit of revelation, it would be a contradiction of His nature and eternal plan. Gods desire is to reveal Himself to you in a very real, personal, and intimate way. He's not content with you just having mere information about Him. His desire is for you to walk in HIm. After all, its only in Him we "live, move, and have our being." (Acts: 17:28)

What is Revelation?

Revelation is an "unveiling". Gods desire is for you to continually grow deeper in the knowledge of who He is and what He is like. Know this, He will always meet you with fresh revelation, but only with the depth to which you hunger and thirst for. There are endless depths to the knowledge of God, how else would the four living creatures in Revelation 4:8 eternally cry "Holy Holy Holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come?" You must know today that by the Blood of the Lamb He has sanctified the way to the throne of Glory. God has prepared the way, now we must prepare our hearts.

The pursuit of a prepared heart.

I know you may be thinking, if its His desire to reveal Himself to me, then why am I looking for Him? Understand, God isn't hiding from you, He's hiding so that He can encounter you. He doesn't hide things from us, He hides things for us. Why? because God desires  authentic relationship. Perhaps this is why in Jeremiah 29:13 He said, "And you will seek ME and find ME, when you search for ME with all your heart." God has one condition when it comes to finding Him, whole hearted pursuit. He has promised to be found 100% of the time by those who seek HIM with 100% of their heart. What a promise! David said in Psalm 27:8 "When you said "Seek my face" my heart said to you, "Lord your face will I seek." If David responded with His heart, this implies thats what God spoke to. God doesn't speak to what doesn't have His attention. Gods desire is for the heart of man to seek the face of His Son. Why? Thats where His glory is. "the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" (II Cor 4:6).

What actually happens?

As you come before the Lord He releases the Spirit of revelation (Ephesians 1: 17-18) to reveal the truth of who He is and what He is like. It is from this place of revelation that we live our life and anchor our perspective. As we come into agreement with the truth that has been revealed to us, He gives us the "power to become" (John 1:12) the glory that we have beheld. By this we become the walking manifestation of Gods glory. The earth is groaning for a manifestation of the Sons of God and it's only in His presence that we are transformed. God showed Moses His backside, but longs to show us His face.

He's waiting for you!

There is a place God has promised to meet you every single time, a place where He can be found and experienced, the secret place. Jesus would say it like this, "But when you pray go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father WHO IS IN the secret place; and your Father who SEES in secret, will Himself reward you openly" (Matthew 6:6). There are two truths revealed in this verse: God Himself dwells in secret patiently waiting for those whose hearts desire is His Person; He's not interested in the eloquence of our speech because He's fixed on the posture of our heart. It is the posture and pursuit of our heart that attracts His presence. He rewards those openly who seek Him privately. He Himself, is our reward. I pray that even now you are beginning to hear the tender whisper of the Holy Spirit say "Rise up and come away" (Song of Solomon 2:10).  God is eager to reveal Himself to you! All that your soul longs for is found in Him. What are you waiting for? He's waiting on you!
